Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fish Burger
I’ve never been to Tampa, and so I didn’t know much about the regional specialties. Knowing the city is on the Gulf Coast, I figured seafood was a winner, and with just a bit of research I found the Grouper Sandwich - which is my inspiration for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Burger. Yes, not a traditional burger, but come on and cut me some slack, I gotta come up with 32 of these! Like me you may have trouble finding grouper, so I ended up using snapper. You can use just about any white fish. I coat mine in some cajun spice, and grill it off to perfection. Some tartar sauce and good fresh lettuce, tomato and onion, and you’re good to go. Enjoy it Bucc’s fans!
Ingredients- 6 oz filet of Grouper (or other white fish like snapper)
- Cajun seasoning
- Tarter sauce
- Butter
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Onion
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
Directions
- Turn your grill on ahead of time, and get it very hot
- Dust the fish with the cajun seasoning on both sides
- Lightly oil the filet with olive oil on both sites
- Butter both slides of the sliced bun
- Lay the fish down on the grill and let it sear for about 3 minutes; until the edges become opaque
- Gently turn the fish over and finish cooking on the side, for about 2 minutes; until just cooked through
- During the last minute of cooking lay the buns, buttered side down on the grill to toast
- Remove the fish & buns (once toasted) and head back inside
- Spread some tartar sauce on the bun and then lay down the grilled fish
- Top with fresh sliced tomato, onion & lettuce
- Top it and enjoy!
Alright fans of the fish...hope you love this "burger", and I hope that I did Tampa justice.
